According to the Hunger in America 2010 study, 1 in 8 Americans relies on assistance from the Feeding America Network to survive. The average monthly income for client households is $940 and 10% of client households are homeless. Tragically, the number of children Feeding America serves has increased 50% since 2006. And it is not getting any better.
Our local area has been especially hurt by the current economy and we outpace the national averages published by the Hunger in America 2010 study in almost every category. Let’s work together to reverse this trend and stop hunger in its tracks.
